SkyWest Minimum Requirements When Counting Helicopter or Glider Time
SkyWest Airlines recognizes the skills common to helicopter and glider flying. SkyWest will accept helo/glider time as part of an applicant's total time as long as they have a minimum of 250 PIC hours of fixed wing.

Criminal Offense and Canadian Clearance

No pilot who has been convicted of any criminal offense that will prohibit him/her of gaining Canadian clearance will be hired for a flight job. Five years after the conviction or completing the applicable sentence, the pilot has to apply for Canadian Rehabilitation from Canada and receive a wavier indicating that they are eligible to enter into the country. Any conviction that a pilot receives while employed at SkyWest Airlines would require them to complete the same process.

Reserve for Flight Jobs

Initially, most pilot new hires can expect to be placed on reserve, depending on the needs of individual domiciles. In some cases, time spent on reserve can be substantial for flight jobs. Ready reserves are also used and most likely utilized at domiciles or hubs. Regular reserve policy requires a two-hour call out.
